The local confectionary stores were crowded Saturday with people purchasing Easter eggs and there was a big rush. In fact it was impossible to get inside some of the stores at times. Local dealers had made preparations for heavy Easter egg and Easter novelty trade and were well supplied. The post card dealers, too, were rushed all day.
The six-act play Cleopatra will be presented at the Hill next Tuesday and Wednesday. It is the stage play reproduced into many beautiful scenes. Heavy rains prevented the ball game between the Petaluma Stars and the Healdsburg amateurs from being played at the eastside park Saturday afternoon. The game will undoubtedly take place on Sunday morning at the park as it will be impossible to play the game in the afternoon as the season for the big team opens Sunday afternoon when the Petaluma team plays the Chinese team.

Easter Sunday was observed here on the most elaborate scale in the history of the city and although the storm raged without, inside the local houses of worship all was brightness and joyous and the theme “He is Risen” echoed from every pulpit and rang from many sweet-voiced throats. Many people from abroad were here to worship and the day was one never to be forgotten.
