The 11 Petaluma girls on the Level 6 Gymnastics team at Redwood Empire Gymnastics took third place and captured two of the six NorCal State Team spots at the NorCal State Championships, held Nov. 3-4 in Roseville.

Kira Lim and L.J.Webb, who both scored 37.50 out of 40 in the All Around category, will join the state team.  Camille Mantoani was awarded the Yvonne Benny Award, given to the gymnast who demonstrates artistic beauty and panache on the balance beam.

Other Redwood Empire gymnasts who earned honors at the meet include:

* Reily Cannon, 1st place All Around and 1st place on the Beam (9.225);

* L.J.Webb placed 1st in all Junior F age group events: vault (9.10), bars (9.45), beam (9.65), and floor (9.30), and took 1st in the All Around competition;

* Violet Deardorff was 5th in Junior D age group on bars (8.85);

* Jenna Mankowski was 7th in Junior F age group on beam (9.0), and Elena Lents was 3rd on bars (9.05);

* In Junior C, Savannah Engler placed 3rd on bars (9.125);

* In Child J competition, Kristianna Coffey placed 1st on uneven bars (9.55);

* In Child E, Camille Mantoani was 1st on floor (9.425) and received a personal best on balance beam (9.725);

* In Child G, state team member Kira Lim was 1st place on the balance beam (9.70);

* In the child H division, Kaylie Barerra was 4th place on the beam (9.0);

* In Child C, Athena Koehler placed 3rd on the floor exercise (9.10).
