For four Mondays in July (July 1, 7, 22 and 29), starting at 7 p.m., Chanticleer alum Justin Montigne leads “Ready, Set, Sing!,” open to beginning through advanced singers and focusing on improving individual technique in choral singing. Get a start on celebrating Independence Day with an evening of “Traditions” at West Side Stories, the monthly community storytelling event. Five-minute true stories, told live, no notes. Welcome the weekend on the patio at Graffiti Restaurant as the Peter Welker Sextet presents its 18th summer of Jazz on the River. Join Welker and his fellow musicians, Deborah Winters, Randy Vincent, Chris Amberger, Kevin Dillon and Rob Roth from 6-8 p.m. this Friday, July 5, and every Friday through September. Puppets on Parade? You betcha. Create a giant puppet for Petaluma’s El Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) Candlelight Procession in late fall at a Petaluma Arts Center class from 1-4 p.m. starting Sunday, July 7. Instructor Kat Lilith teaches the six-week class. Puppets will be created using as many recycled materials as possible, including fabric, paint, newsprint and brown bags. Cost is $125, plus $25 per puppet. The PAC is at 230 Lakeville St. Enrollment is limited to six giant puppet groups – multiple people can create one puppet. Visit petalumaartscenter.org.

Join Cinnabar Theater for Dolce Sera, an after-dinner concert of Italian and Neopolitan music with Due Zighi Baci (Two Gypsy Kisses).
