The Petaluma Woman’s Club on Monday began suit against the First Congregational Church to quit title to the Putnam property on B Street recently purchased by the club as the site for the propose new club house. The suit is merely a friendly and technical one and will not be contested. It was brought in order to perfect the title to the property.

The first social dance at the Unique Theatre after the Lenten season was given on Saturday and a large number of the younger set were in attendance. The music was great and the floor in fine shape. Another enjoyable dance was given at IOGT all and many local people went to Penngrove Saturday evening to attend the social dance at Evarts’ Hall.
The 49th Teachers Institute opened Monday with not an absent member, there being nearly 300 teachers in attendance for the session of the next three days. Incoming trains brought many of the teachers and the city presented a lively appearance. The Moral Problems of High School was the theme selected by Prof C.E. Rugh at the morning session. Prof. Rugh recently was awarded a medal for an address he delivered on moral training.
There was a partial eclipse of the sun on Sunday morning and it was pulled off on schedule. Many local people were out with burned glasses, “rubbering” at Old Sol and the unusual spot on his face. The eclipse was of brief duration and but a small part of the sun was in shadow.
