For the past two years the Petaluma City Ballet has raised money by organizing For the Love of Art, a gala party, auction and performance. This year’s is Jan. 22, with an Alice in Wonderland theme.
Guest artists help build the buzz by creating their own masterpieces on pointe shoes that will be juried, with winners displayed in Petaluma galleries in December and January, and auctioned at the gala.
For a $10 fee, each artist can register to pick up one new shoe at Petaluma City Ballet, 110 Howard St. at Western. Entry forms, information and hours of operation are at petalumacityballet.org.
Finished pieces are due Dec. 9; winners will be chosen Dec. 16.
