The Petaluma Police Department’s fall session Citizen Academy begins Nov. 6 and runs through January. The 10-week course provides community members with an inside view of the department, interacting with the police chief, staff, officers and civilian personnel including a ride-along. This program is not designed for police officer candidates; rather, it’s an overview of the police department operations for Petaluma citizens interested in learning more about how the police department operates.
