Don’t miss the 56th annual Art in the Park, from 10 a.m.- 5 .m. Sunday, Sept. 8. Fifty local artists will participate in the popular Walnut Park event, there will be live – and lively – music. Collaborative on Positive Aging (COPA) holds a series of workshops, “Planning for Your Longevity,” throughout the county, focusing on the future, concerns and optimisms of Sonoma County’s 50-plus population. An introductory input and information meeting is set for 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10 at the Petaluma Senior Center, 211 Novak Drive. Those interested should reserve a place by calling 778-4399. A similar meeting is scheduled from 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17 at the Council on Aging, 30 Kawana Springs Road, Santa Rosa.

The Petaluma Regional Library offers a Beginning Internet Class from 10-11 a.m. the second Thursday of each month. This month’s class is Sept. 12. Taught by a trained volunteer, classes are limited to four students per session and advance registration is suggested. Sign up at the Reference Desk at the library or call 763-9801, ext. 5. Attendees will learn how to navigate the library website, use the catalog, access their library account, reserve a book, and explore via Google. To take the class, students must take the mouse tutorial (unless they know how to use a mouse).

Cinnabar Theater is overflowing with events this week. At 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 12, enjoy Amancer Flamenco as four artists offer music, dance and song in the complex rhythms of flamenco. Tickets are $25. “Gershwin in the Garden” on Sunday, Sept. 15, features Denise Perrier singing tunes of George and Ira Gershwin with an eight-piece orchestra. The 4 p.m. concert is followed by a barbecue. Tickets are $25-$50. And, continuing through Sept. 22 is Emmy Award nominee Craig Wright’s “The Pavilion,” the story of two former lovers who encounter each other at a high school reunion. Performances are at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, 2 p.m. Sundays. Tickets are $15-$25. The inaugural Petaluma River Craft Beer Festival bubbles up from 1-6 p.m. Saturday, Sept 14 on the Water Street Pedestrian Walkway. Fifteen local breweries will be featured, including six from Petaluma: Hen House, Petaluma Hills, Lagunitas, 101 North, Dempsey’s and Three Uncles. Music will be offered by  the Fossils, the Dixie Giants, the Friday Night Jam Band and Petaluma Pete with event proceeds benefiting local nonprofits and Petaluma River projects. Tickets are $15-$40.
