If it’s summer, it’s time for – quilts? That’s right – the Petaluma Quilt Show returns, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17. The Petaluma Quilt Guild hosts the show in downtown historic buildings and churches. This year’s featured artist is Cara Gulati, and Hoffman Challenge Quilts will also be on display. Join historians, and Petaluma River experts, John FitzGerald and Skip Sommer for “How Petaluma Creek Built the Community: A Walking Tour of the Petaluma River and a Conversation,” two river-related events on Sunday, Aug. 18. At 10:30 a.m. they’ll lead the walking tour, followed by the 2 p.m. discussion. Those interested in the tour should meet on the museum steps, Fourth and B streets.
