Hayley Carrier of Petaluma has been chosen as this year’s Wine Country Rodeo Princess, earning the right to help Miss Wine Country Rodeo represent the Sonoma County Fair at events throughout the area. She is currently studying at the College of Marin.
Carrier and Ondrea Edwards of Susanville, who was chosen as Miss Wine Country Rodeo 2013, were crowned after an April 24 competition that included horsemanship as well as prepared and impromptu public speaking. They will preside over the Pro Rodeo Cowboys Association Rodeo, Farmers Day and other activities at this summer’s Sonoma County Fair, which runs July 25-Aug. 11.
The PRCA Rodeo starts at 8 p.m. Saturday, July 27. Farmers’ Day, a celebration of the local agricultural community, is from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, July 28 . Both events are in Chris Beck Arena on the Sonoma County Fairgrounds.
