Our Vinyl Vows, local alt rock band, has been chosen as a support band for this year’s “Not So Silent Night” concert this Friday at Oakland’s Oracle Arena.
The concert spans two days, with Friday’s lineup including, in addition to the Petaluma group, Jack White, the Shins, Metric, Of Monsters and Men, the Gaslight Anthem and Two Door Cinema Club.
More than 100 bands submitted applications to radio station KITS (Live 105) and Our Vinyl Vows was one of 20 finalists. Online voters made them the No. 1 choice, with more than 200,000 votes cast. Results were announced Sunday.
Our Vinyl Vows has been part of Sonoma County’s alt rock music scene since 2009. In 2011, their first full-length album, “Me, Myself and Einstein,” was released. A follow-up EP, tentatively titled “The Sci-Five,” will be released in January.
