The Petaluma Arts Center’s annual members exhibition continues through Dec. 23. This year’s exhibit honors local artist David Moore. Art will be available for purchase. Folk singer Iris Dement appears at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29 at McNear’s Mystic Theatre. Dement recently released a new album of original songs – sixteen years after her last record – saying, “I gave up on trying to steer or force it and decided to just make myself available in my heart and mind as much as I could and leave the rest up to fate.” Tickets are $29. The AWOL Art Gallery (Art Without Labels) holds its holiday reception from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1 at 111 Kentucky St. Artists will be present and artwork, prints and other merchandise will be available, with proceeds funding AWOL’s arts program, including materials, costumes and musical instruments, plus being a source of independent income for the artists, who are part of the Alchemia program for the differently abled.

Sixth grade students at Liberty School produce a holiday craft fair from 10- a.m. to 5 p.m. this Saturday, Dec. 1. Local artists are showcased and handcrafted items including ceramics, jewelry, quilts and woodworking will be for sale. Students will donate event profits to charities. The school is located at 170 Liberty School Road.

Ready to have fun and support a good cause? Take part in a Zumba class to help out Christmas Cheer. Zumba is a Latin dance-based cardio fitness program. Christmas Cheer helps local families during the holidays with food, toys for children and small gifts for seniors. The nonprofit needs donations of canned goods and new, unwrapped toys. The class is from 8 to 9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1 at the Petaluma Community Center, 320 N. McDowell Blvd. Minimum donation is $5.

Circle Sunday, Dec. 2 on your calendar for two annual events: the Petaluma Museum’s Holiday Tea and Heritage Homes’ Holiday Parlor Tour, a peek into four vintage Petaluma parlors.
